Hype Beatz

ABOUT

Hype Beatz, born as Gerald Jacob, is a multi-platinum hip-hop producer & engineer hailing from sunny Miami, FL.  Growing up in a violent and drug-abused household, Hype began to find therapy in music from an early age. His passion for music began with singing tenor and playing drums at Church with his father, who was rarely around.

Hype quickly fell in love with the drums, and got his first drum-kit at only six years old which was quickly destroyed by his brother. Hype then began making drum noises with his mouth and developed a beatboxing skill, winning multiple talent shows and even being on a TV show titled “The Roof” on Telemundo. This gave Hype his passion for entertaining and music. Soon after, Hype realized he could create music by himself on his computer using protools and FL Studio and was instantly hooked and determined to master production and recording music.

At only 17- years old, he had already opened up his first studio & began to take his music career seriously. Hype had his first son at the age of 19, which took some time away from his music focus, having to work multiple jobs at once to provide for his family. However, after working about 100 jobs he finally decided to go all-in on his music career.

Hype began producing tracks for underground artists in the South Florida area, such as Robb Banks and Wifisfuneral, quickly making a name for himself in the local hip-hop scene. His ability to execute and tailor his sound for any artist or genre, as well as coming in with his high-energy, gained the attention of many artists and recording labels.

Fast forward a few more years and Hype began producing tracks for some of the biggest names in the industry. His production credits include hit tracks for artists like Yo Gotti, Jackboy, & Moneybagg Yo.  His most proud project is “Yo Gotti - I Still Am” which went triple platinum & “Jackboy - New Jack City” which was a break-out project for the artist.

Hype Beatz wants to make music that makes people feel good, think positive, and no matter what the occasion is, will give you a great time. Despite his success, Hype remains humble and grounded, always striving to improve and evolve as an artist. He is truly a master of his craft, and continues to inspire and influence the hip-hop world with his innovative beats and production techniques.
