Album Review: Life of a Don by Don Toliver




A year after his Heaven or Hell" album, which peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200, Don Toliver has released his new project, Life of a Don. After signing to Travis Scott's Cactus Jack label, Don Toliver's fame has skyrocketed. Over the past year, he has collaborated with artists such as Justin Bieber and Lil Durk. His rise to fame has created a massive buzz because of the different styles he brings. Don dropped a short snippet video of his song "Xscape" before the album's release date, which got his fanbase buzzing ahead of the project’s full release.


When an interviewer asked Don what his album represents, he said," it's the soundtrack to my life,". He told his Twitter followers that he "worked his whole life for these moments" Yesterday, Don posted a picture of his tracklist on a Louis Vuitton bag. His album features Baby Keem, Travis Scott, Sofaygo, and Grammy-winning artist Kali Uchis. The 16-song album clocks in at fifty minutes in length.Don Toliver's voice is unique and brings a vibe that listeners enjoy because of his impressive vocals. The features on this album will blow your mind; the different styles each artist brings to the music make you want to keep listening. Kali Uchis starts off the song “Drugs N Hella Melodies”, withDon following after, but the transition between the two flows symphonically.
